Building Better Regions Fund Round 5 grant workshop - 21 Jan

RDA Gold Coast is hosting a specialised Building Better Regions Fund (BBRF) Round 5 information session for local government bodies and not-for-profit organisations.

Thursday 21st January 2021, 9am to 11am | REGISTER

Southport Golf Club, Slatyer Avenue, Southport

BBRF is a $1.04 billion program investing in community projects to create jobs, drive economic growth and build stronger regional and remote communities into the future. The 2020-2021 Budget announced $200 million for Round 5 which comes at such a critical time.

BBRF is an open competitive grants program with two funding streams – Infrastructure Projects and Community Investments.

The Infrastructure Projects Stream supports projects that involve construction of new infrastructure, or the upgrade or extension of existing infrastructure.

The Community Investments Stream funds community development activities including, but not limited to, new or expanded local events, strategic regional plans, leadership and capability building activities.

The Australian Government is targeting investment in shovel-ready projects that deliver jobs and drive economic growth:

  • $100 million will be dedicated to supporting tourism-related infrastructure projects; and
  • $100 million will support regional and remote Australia more broadly, by funding infrastructure projects and community investment projects.

Grant funding of $5,000 up to $10 million is available for eligible, successful applicants.

RDA Gold Coast Director of Regional Development Estella Rodighiero will host this workshop. She will advise you on important information and provide handy tips on how to prepare your competitive application. Items to be discussed include:

  • Application criteria, guidelines and key elements of applying for funding
  • Guidance on developing a strong application
  • Best practice principles and advice on where to gather supporting information such as economic data
  • Tips for getting your application approved
  • Q&A session.

Numbers are limited and you MUST be registered via Eventbrite to attend.

The BBRF information portal can be accessed at www.business.gov.au/bbrf

Applications open 12 January 2021 and close 5 March 2021.
