$200 million allocated for BBRF Round 3: Tourism infrastructure a priority

The Australian Government has announced $200 million in the 2018–19 Budget for Round Three of the Building Better Regions Fund (BBRF), with tourism-related infrastructure identified as a priority.

BBRF is designed to create jobs, drive economic growth and support strong regional and remote communities across Australia by funding infrastructure and community investment projects.

The fund invests in projects located in, or benefiting eligible areas outside the major capital cities of Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, and Canberra.

To help regions unlock their tourism potential, a key focus for the BBRF in Round Three will be to help stimulate local economies by investing in the tourism sector through tourism-related infrastructure projects.

It is anticipated that Round Three will be open for applications in the second half of this year.

Round Two of the BBRF closed on 19 December 2017. Successful projects are expected to be announced in the coming months.
