Dr Chris Davis

Chris has worked for the last 20 years in the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology sector, both in private industry and university settings. Chris is currently the General Manager of the Institute for Glycomics, Griffith University, where he leads a team of professionals responsible for drug and vaccine technology development from concept to human clinical testing, commercialising the Institute’s biomedical technology portfolio through deals with domestic and international pharmaceutical companies, and finance and operational management.

Chris was formerly Commercial Manager for Brisbane-based commercialisation firm Uniquest Pty Ltd., and prior to that, worked for a Queensland-based Biotech company developing novel, broad-spectrum, carbohydrate-based antibacterial agents that he co-invented during his Doctorate degree.

Chris holds a bachelor’s degree with honours in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, and a PhD in synthetic medicinal chemistry. Chris is Chairman of Ausbiotech Ltd (Queensland Branch), Australia’s biotechnology industry organisation.
